Abstract

affects millions of people. The pain is moderate-severe and is commonly
associated with repeated microtrauma. There are many conservative treatment
options, with plantar orthoses (OP) being one of the most widely used options.
There are numerous reviews, but no current one that focuses on OP as the sole
treatment. PURPOSE: We seek to know the efficacy of OP as a conservative
treatment to improve the symptoms of PF. In addition, an attempt will be made to
analyze the best type of OP, identify the minimum time of use and know the
diagnosis of PF. DATA COLLECTION: A systematic review was carried out
consulting 5 documentary sources using the PICOS strategy and keywords. The
articles included used OP as a treatment for PF, in addition, they had to be
published in the last 10 years. Those studies in which the therapy was
supplemented with any other physical or chemical treatment were excluded.
