Abstract
This chapter addresses media literacy in children aged 3 to 6, focusing specifically on the dimension of ‘Ideology and values.’ The authors argue that simply knowing how to use devices does not in itself develop critical media skills or ethical values. To this end, they propose adapting specific indicators for early childhood, such as the ability to distinguish between reality and fiction, detect advertising interests, and identify social stereotypes. They also emphasise the need for children to learn to manage the emotions that screens arouse in them. Finally, they suggest using animated films as a resource to promote critical thinking and democratic values.
