Abstract
derechos, incrementa desigualdades y dificulta decisiones informadas.
Clear communication is essential to guarantee the right to understand and achieve real transparency that enables individuals to comprehend, evaluate, and utilize information. This principle affects both the public and private sectors, where the opacity of regulations, contracts, or digital environments restricts rights, exacerbates inequalities, and hinders informed decision-making. Clarity demands a comprehensive approach that integrates language, design, accessibility, technology, and comprehension assessment. From this perspective, communication sciences are fundamental to transforming the right to understand into an effective practice and consolidating clear communication as a field of scientific inquiry. This reality requires greater academic development based on rigorous methodologies and interdisciplinary approaches. In this process, communication sciences must play a leading role, contributing knowledge on audiences, channels, and social impact to build more comprehensible, inclusive, and democratic societies.
