Abstract
La práctica variable, variabilidad al practicar o variabilidad inducida ha sido uno de los principales ámbitos de estudio en el área del aprendizaje y control motor. Tradicionalmente se ha asociado una elevada variabilidad con peor rendimiento, sin embargo, recientes estudios indican que la variabilidad puede ser funcional favoreciendo el aprendizaje y rendimiento de habilidades motrices. El entrenamiento en tenis se ha basado tradicionalmente en un concepto mecanicista donde predominaba la repetición continua de movimientos en unas condiciones ideales. Actualmente, las propuestas más contemporáneas defienden la introducción de variabilidad al practicar para optimizar los aprendizajes, a partir del descubrimiento y exploración de patrones individuales de movimiento consiguiendo programas motores más amplios y adaptativos.
