Historiographical Review on the Physical Activity and Sport Military of Spain (1990-2014)

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to review and analyze in a descriptive manner the historiography on the physical activity and sport military in Spain from 1990 to 2014.The works have been obtained from two databases: Collective Catalog of the Network of Spanish University Libraries and Dialnet. 32 publications have been selected employing the technique of documentary observation. The results have been analyzed in seven groups: the contents, the eras, the sources, the methods, the location, the temporality and the publications. The conclusions show that the most discussed themes were related to physical education, sport and gymnastics. We have studied virtually every era, the twentieth century proving to be the period of time in which a greater number of studies took place, most of these spanning a time period of less than one hundred years. The primary sources used most often are printed material and archival. The historical method is the most used technique. The works published in Spain comprise the greater scientific production, it was during the five-year periods of 2005-2009 and 2010-2014 when a larger number of studies were edited and most of the works have been published in article format

El objetivo de este estudio es revisar y analizar de forma descriptiva la historiografía sobre la actividad física y del deporte militar de España desde 1990 hasta 2014. Las obras se han obtenido de dos bases de datos: Catálogo Colectivo de la Red de Bibliotecas Universitarias Españolas y Dialnet. Empleando la técnica de la observación documental se han seleccionado 32 publicaciones. Los resultados han sido analizados en siete grupos: los contenidos, las épocas, las fuentes, los métodos, la ubicación, la temporalidad y las publicaciones. Las conclusiones muestran que las temáticas más tratadas han sido las relacionadas con la educación física, el deporte y la gimnasia. Se han estudiado prácticamente todas las épocas, siendo el siglo XX el periodo en el que existe un mayor número de estudios, la mayoría de los cuales abarca un periodo temporal inferior a cien años. Las fuentes primarias más utilizadas son el material impreso y el archivístico. El método histórico es el más utilizado. Las obras publicadas en España concentran la mayor producción científica, los quinquenios entre 2005-2009 y 2010-2014 fueron aquellos en los que se editaron un mayor número de estudios y la mayoría de las obras se han editado en formato artículo
