Intersecciones. Tradiciones epistemológicas en Ciencias Sociales y Sanitarias.

Abstract

Dos tipos de ciencias cuyas interacciones tiene un carácter de curso histórico son las Ciencias Sociales y Sanitarias. Sus disonancias son patrimonio de los diferentes enfoques con los que tradicionalmente han venido estudiando sus objetos de estudio. Puntos de vista diferenciados que, a su vez, han incorporado ópticas reciprocas en un intento por paliar los estragos de los reduccionismos ontológicos propios de un modernismo científico de carácter eminentemente materialista. Desde una perspectiva diacrónica se vislumbran aquí las discordancias, pero también las intersecciones, las mezcolanzas teóricas y metodológicas, de dos ópticas que en verdad se complementan y enriquecen cuando consiguen desligarse de los rigores de su propio enfoque disciplinar. Con este espíritu, el presente texto es un ejercicio de análisis epistemológico de sus diferentes tradiciones disciplinares. Se buscan no solo las distinciones propias de su idiosincrasia particular, sino también las vías contrapuestas que abrazan recursos recíprocos, los caminos contrahegemónicos al margen de sus propias epistemologías de origen. Ello implica un ejercicio didáctico que transite desde las teorías del conocimiento y sus tradiciones académicas hasta los requerimientos metodológicos que implican los diferentes enfoques.

Two types of sciences whose interactions have a historical course character are the Social and Health Sciences. Their dissonances are the heritage of the different approaches with which they have traditionally been studying their objects of study. Differentiated points of view that, in turn, have incorporated reciprocal perspectives in an attempt to alleviate the ravages of the ontological reductionisms typical of a scientific modernism of an eminently materialist character. From a diachronic perspective, the discordances are glimpsed here, but also the intersections, the theoretical and methodological mixtures, of two perspectives that truly complement and enrich each other when they manage to detach themselves from the rigors of their own disciplinary approach. In this spirit, this text is an exercise in epistemological analysis of its different disciplinary traditions. They seek not only the distinctions inherent to their particular idiosyncrasy, but also the opposing paths that embrace reciprocal resources, the counterhegemonic paths outside their own epistemologies of origin. This implies a didactic exercise that moves from the theories of knowledge and its academic traditions to the methodological requirements implied by the different approaches.
