In these times of crisis, of confinement, and in the aftermath of the United Kingdom's exit from the European Union, reading G. K. Chesterton is a good way to reconcile oneself with the British people and even with humanity as a whole. One of the most brilliant, controversial and, therefore, amusing minds of the years between the second half of the 19th century and the early 20th century was the versatile and original British writer Gilbert Keith Chesterton, better known simply by his initials G. K. Chesterton, who lived exactly between the years 1874 and 1936.
